Network America Lines was founded by R. Kenneth Johns, former President of Sea-Land Service, in 1998. Initially, its service focused on Russia and the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union. During the early start-up period, NAL shipped considerable amounts of humanitarian aid cargo for the U.S. Department of State and other governmental agencies and NGOs, as well as commercial cargo to this region.

Over the years, Network America Lines has significantly expanded its services to encompass East and North Europe, the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

NAL is headquartered in Roselle Park, NJ with offices in Baltimore, MD, Atlanta, GA, and New York, NY. It has representative offices in Cleveland, Chicago, and other U.S. and Canada locations. Overseas it has multiple agency arrangements, including Riga Latvia, Tallinn Estonia, Klaipeda Lithuania, St. Petersburg Russia, Tblisi Georgia, and the Ukraine.

NAL is a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) and a Freight Forwarder. It has excellent world-wide liability insurance coverage with reputable providers.

NAL is part of the Hampshire Management Group of affiliated companies, headquartered in New York under the leadership of R. Kenneth Johns. The companies all have ties to the transportation industry.
